This advanced course takes you straight to the inside track of Rock 'n' Roll lead, rhythm and bass playing. It is also the first step on the way to mastering chord-specific improvising - the most versatile approach to creating music on your guitar.
Builds on what you have learnt on the intermediate courses.
By the end of the course you will have gained a thorough understanding of exactly how Rock 'n' Roll guitar works. You will quickly be able to relate what you hear to the underlying chords and scales and use this knowledge to produce authentic sounding Rock 'n' Roll Lead and Rhythm guitar ideas of your own.
You will have laid the foundations for understanding how chord-based improvising works' a must for anyone wanting to explore more advanced improvising and, in particular, mastering jazz lead guitar.
The video content is supported by printouts showing shuffle patterns and how to play 12-bars in any key.
Also included in the course files are 15 mp3 audio tracks specially recorded for the course to use as backing tracks in the five keys most commonly used in Rock 'n' Roll music. Each track is available recorded at three different speeds so that you can build your skills one step at a time.
The course is perfect preparation for the Rock 'n' Roll Rudiments Course - Part 2 which will take what you learn in part 1 and show you how to use it to play classic 60s Rock 'n' Roll tunes by the greatest exponents of the genre from that era: Chuck Berry Eddie Cochran, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones
